Gymnastics

Gymnastics
is a sport many of us only see at Olympic Games times, but there is a lot more to it than that. It is a popular activity for many youngsters, many of which do not go on to competitive gymnastics. At the competitive level, there are the major divisions of rhythmic and artistic gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics involves feats of fitness, skill, concentration, flexibility and artistic flair. Rhythmic gymnastics involve three apparatus: the Rope, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon, and are judged on the skill of the gymnast in leaps, balances, pivots, flexibility, apparatus handling and artistic effect.
